After the Rain …

After the rain the air is sweet
With glist`ning pools beneath my feet
Raindrops dripping down from the eaves
Teardrops slipping off shining leaves  ….

Thermography in Holland

In April Irma Wensink, Praktijk Healthy Horse, organised a brilliant 5 day Thermography Course in Epe, Holland.

The main guest speaker was Tracey Turner (USA), who, having worked with Thermography for over 30 years in the equine field and is responsible for much of the early research into the benefits it can bring, not only delighted us with his many anicdotes, but was also extremely generous with the knowledge and information he shared.

This was followed by a one day Saddle Fitting Workshop develoted to recognising a poorly fitted saddle  –  it provided an informed understanding of the possible causes and how those situations might be picked up early through Thermography.

Berkeley Hunt Point to Point

If you fancy a bit of excitment and colour to brighten up these damp days join me this weekend at the Berkeley Hunt Point to Point, Woodford, Gloucestershire – Saturday, 28th April 2012
A full Race Card, starting with Pony Racing at 12 noon … a spectacle not to be missed !!

SPRING … at Last !!

As the early morning sun’s rays glint off the dew soaked grass and the dogs enthusiastically exercise rabbits along the hedgerow, a snort of horse-breath floats on the still chill air
… well, that was before it turned to soaking drizzle for days on end !!
But, hey-ho, isn’t that what April is all about ??

However, the weather didn’t detract from the latest Equine Laser Course last weekend – a cheery group of therapists and owners gathered in Newmarket for what proved to be a very interesting and interactive two days !!

Farewell 2011 …

Just returned from the last Equine Laser Therapy and Introduction to Equine Laser Acupuncture courses for 2011.
Despite a very cold weekend, the courses swung into action with attendees from as far afield as Ireland, Sussex, Wales and Somerset, from a range of disciplines including Osteopathy, McTimony, Physiotherapy, Veterinary and Thermography
All in all the weekend proved to be a lively discussion ground, where not only was Laser Therapy/Acupuncture discussed, but ideas compared and views exchanged … a fitting end to a great year !
